Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another service may receive it. By using Gonzales County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers may collect basic technical and usage details:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Pages opened and time spent on them
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • Internet Protocol address
  • Referring website, when one is supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help produce aggregate measures such as popular pages, traffic patterns, and points where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected partner
  • Maintain reliable and responsive pages
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Measure which content visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Gonzales County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official channels operated by the sheriff, clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not used to build consumer reports or files about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy, including its retention and disclosure rules. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's terms before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, or outside search service. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

An advertising provider may use its own systems to track activity across websites and select targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be received by:

  • Analytics providers measuring performance and traffic
  • Search partners processing a query submitted to them
  • Advertising networks placing content on a page
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable standard safeguards are used for information we collect. No internet service can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal data. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs access to many government records, while Chapter 411 controls important criminal-history privacy and dissemination rules. For data held by this private resource, a visitor may:

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask what personal data is held
  • Request deletion where applicable
  • Opt out of eligible processing activities

Updates to This Policy
